Building a School in Sudan for the Darfur Refugees by 2010.

 

Please join 12 year old Maria D'Jay and 100 others so far in writing a letter to Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana!) asking her to join our effort.  Save the Children is one of her favorite charities.  See Maria's letter below for ideas, and enclose a brochure.  (It is too late to ask her to join us in the October 26, 2008 Walkathon, but please continue to ask her to help us build our school.  You can also email her by visiting her website.)

 

 

 

Dear Miley,

          I think you are a really good singer and I love your show. I read a People magazine about you and it said one of your favorite causes is Save the Children. My dad supports Save the Children too. In fact, he is raising money to build a school in Sudan by 2010. It costs $100,000 to build a school and he already has $34,000. On Oct. 26, he is having a BBQ, rally, and walkathon to raise more money. We were wondering if you could come. That would be great! It would make many more people come and maybe you could walk a couple laps with us. We live in Ridgefield, Connecticut and the walkathon is at Danbury high school. If you can’t come, maybe you can donate some money to help us build the school. Last year, my dad had another walkathon and walked 75 miles without stopping!
